2019 Barking Mad Grenache Shiraz
VINEYARD - Estate grown at Reillys, St Clare Vineyard, Watervale. Clone 1919 Block Grenache, Cropping 2.5T per acre. Rich red loam over deep limestone.
WINEMAKING - 70% Grenache, 30% Shiraz. Cold soaked with prolonged skin contact.
MATURATION - 100% French oak hogsheads, 15 months.
BOUQUET - Dark cherry and plum with a touch of spice.
PALATE - Rich dark fruits with finely integrated French oak. Sweet ripe fruit on the finish with peppery spice. Velvety tannins with great persistence.
Barking Mad pays tribute to the Reillys winery. Daschunds past and present who, upon hearing the Bedford truck rumbling down the road laden with fruit, go completely barking mad!
