2006 RCV Cabernet Sauvignon 'The Dancer'
This is a very special wine! Be quick, there are only 3000 bottles available!
Renowned South Australian artist Tom Gleghorn has honoured Reillys Wines by allowing us to use one of his beautiful prints on a new wine label. Inspired when watching preparation for an Aboriginal tribal dance, Tom has called this vibrant painting 'The Landscape Dancer'.
To match this stunning label, Justin has released one of his finest wines being the 2006 RCV Cabernet Sauvignon.
The premium dry grown fruit used for this wine was hand picked from Smyth's Vineyard then open fermented before being gently basket pressed.
It has spent 22 months in French Oak Hogsheads resulting in an exquisitely smooth wine with flavours of mint, blackcurrant and dark chocolate.
This is a limited release wine with only 3000 bottles being produced and all are numbered.

"2006 The Dancer Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet color that is maintaining some youthful purple in the rim. The nose is incredibly fragrant and intensely scented with notes of eucalypt, dried mint, creme de cassis and blackberry pie filling. Very full bodied, rich and opulent, it offers an abundance of warm blackcurrant fruit with crisp acid, medium-firm finely grained tannins and a long chocolate-mint finish. Delicious now, it should continue to cellar through 2018."

During Vintage 2010 we had the priviledge of having Tom Gleghorn as our 'artist in residence' at our winery where he spent time with Justin and learnt the intricacies of winemaking.
As a wine lover himself, Tom was interested in the winemaking processes and was inspired by the colours, smells and sounds. He even did an impromptu charcoal 'sketch' on our loading dock... which as you can see was a masterpiece in itself!
'The Dancer' was launched at a Glenelg Football Club luncheon for whom we are major sponsor, Tom spoke about his experience at the winery and how when he first tried 'The Dancer' Cabernet Sauvignon it, and I quote, "turned my balls to butter!".
Tom was presented with bottle #1 while Glenelg Football Club President Gary Metcalf was presented with bottle #2.

"Matured for 27 months in new French Hogsheads, 2006 RCV Shiraz presents a deep garnet color and intense scents of macerated blueberries and mulberries, blackberry compote, yeast extract, sandalwood, cinnamon stick and mocha. The very full bodied, rich palate is just starting to evolve into some complexity with ample fruit supported by crisp acid and a medium
level of fine grained tannins. The finish is long with notes of coffee and spices. Drinking nicely now, it should continue to develop over the next 5-7 years."

"A glass-coating opaque purple color, it offers up an enticing nose of smoked meat, game, spice box and blueberry. Round, sweet and layered on a the palate, this well-balanced Shiraz will evolve for 2-3 years and be at its best from 2011 to 2021."
